The Granite State Human Resources Conference
 is supported by and produced by the HR State Council of New Hampshire.  The Council is dedicated to the professional growth of HR professionals.

The Conference is committed to providing a venue that stimulates thinking, generates new ideas, offers timely and relevant information and opportunities for networking to enhance the professional development of HR professionals and their colleagues. We accomplish this by selecting high quality speakers and seminar presenters who have national stature and expertise in their field. Participants will also have access to products and programs available through business partners representing benefits providers,training sources, recruitment resources, and may other HR related vendors.

Fran Lefavour, State Council Conference Director

Fran Lefavour has 30+ years of Human Resource experience. She started FPL Consulting in 1991 and sold that business to Leddy HR in 2000. She currently consults under Leddy HR. She has served on the DOL Wage & Hour Appeals Board, NH Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, NH Public Employee Labor Relations Board and is a member of the Seacoast Human Resources Group and SHRM.

Charla Stevens is a Director and Chair of the Employment Law Practice Group at the law firm of McLane Middleton Professional Association.  She also works in the Education and Health Care practice groups. She focuses her practice on addressing litigated and non-litigated employment issues such as discrimination, harassment, employee classification and wage and hour claims.  Charla litigates cases in the state and federal courts of New Hampshire and Massachusetts and before numerous state and federal administrative agencies such as the Department of Labor, the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Charla is the Vice-Chair of the NH Business and Industry Association’s Healthcare, HR & Workforce Development Policy Committee and a Past Director of the HR State Council of New Hampshire.   She was appointed by Governor Maggie Hassan to serve as Chair of the state Personnel Appeals Board.   Charla has been recognized as a leading employment lawyer by Best Lawyers, Chambers USA, New England Super Lawyers and Martindale-Hubbell.

She currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Families in Transitions and on the Board of Directors of the Granite United Way.  Charla lives in Bedford with her husband, Dave, and enjoys running, cycling, skiing, hiking, golfing and as much travel as she can possibly squeeze in.

Vicki Kress, Conference Secretary

Vicki is the Human Resource Manager at Sabbow and Companies, Inc. in Concord. She has been with Sabbow for just a few months, prior to that she worked as the Director of Administration for both Child Health Services in Manchester and Harbor Homes.in Nashua. She received her MS in Non-profit Management from New England College in 2006. She is a founding board member of Media Power Youth and is a member of the board of Northeast Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services.

Shari has been involved in Human Resource Management for over two decades for mid-sized companies in the Manufacturing and Construction industries. For the past ten years she has been the HR Director at Degree Controls, Inc., Milford NH.  Shari has been active with the Granite State HR Conference in various roles since 2002.  This year, Shari is reprising her role as Exhibitor Chair (previously held 2010 – 2012). She has been active in the New Hampshire HR Community since 1992, having been the “longest serving Board Member” of the National Human Resources Association’s New Hampshire Affiliate, performing two terms as President in addition to other leadership roles.  She is a SHRM At-Large member and previously held the PHR and SPHR designations.  She takes great pride in her twelve year involvement with Special Olympics New Hampshire, and leads the Manchester Ten-Pin Bowling team as Head Coach. A member of the Governance Committee since 2009, she joined the Board of Directors in 2011.

Michelle leads the strategic development and implementation of our Talent Management plans and programs. Michelle comes to HealthcareSource with over 10 years of innovative Human Resources Experience in small, midsize and Fortune 500 companies. Michelle has a bachelors in Business Administration, an MBA in Human Resources and is SPHR and GPHR certified. Michelle currently serves on the Board of the Manchester Area Human Resources Association where she is the Social Media Chair. Michelle was also the Co-Founder of Southern New Hampshire Women’s Business Network and spends some time as a guest teacher for the PHR/SPHR prep courses at Southern New Hampshire University. Stefa Normantas – As co-owner of Green Tree Event Consultants, Stefa brings over 20 years of diverse marketing and communication experience including event management, advertising, account management, public relations, editorial, and design to her clients. Stefa holds a dual undergraduate degree in Communications/Studio Art and masters degree in Communications Management from Simmons College, Boston, Massachusetts. Stefa is the founding president of the Maine Marketing Association, a member of the Maine Public Relations Council, and former president of the Ad Club of Maine.
